Tanner, 1915

995.00

This is an incredibly well done nautical piece that dates to 1915. It has a very traditional, federal-style character. It is an original oil painting on stretched canvas and has one area of restoration that is essentially seamless and barely noticeable. For your reference, see photos the last two photos featured, 16 and 17. This work has a clear historic presence with uniform craquelure across the surface. Color palette is excellent - pure and fresh blue, gray and white with little pops of color found in the details. The artist, Tanner, used a realist style in creating this piece that is evident in fine, delicate yet intentional brushstrokes. Measures 22 x 26 inches including the frame. Frame is new, it is constructed of solid wood and has a water gilded finish.
