This incredible nautical work dates to the 1950s and has been inscribed by the artist in the lower right hand corner. It is an original oil painting on mounted canvas and is found in very good antique condition. Absolutely gorgeous brushwork and tonal variation - the light and shadow effects are so well done by a wonderfully skilled hand. Heavy, impasto application of paint. The color palette is serene yet dramatic with gorgeous contrasting elements. The scene itself is lovely, a calm harbor seascape with boats and nautical details throughout. Measures 15 x 17.5 inches including the frame. Frame is new, it is a substantial moulding made of heavy wood and finished with golf leaf. Exquisite!
